rollar slide video

Alrighty, here is the video from the rollar slide last weekend. The order of the train on the slide goes. Scott, Jared, Ethan, Heather, Dar, and Louis. They are moving at 1/4 speed for the safety of the little-ones. Enjoy!

Sound sleeper

Apparently we all slept through our first earthquake! Imagine that. Monday morning about 5 am we experienced an earthquake that actually had it's epicenter 37 miles north of Tokyo out to sea. And we felt it here! Well, we didn't. My friend, Heather, asked me the next morning. And even though the wind was screaming enough to cause both Louis and I to wake up at regular intervals, and never really letting us sink into a deep sleep, we didn't notice the beds, windows, or picture frames shaking. Go figure! Oh well, maybe next time.

Valentine's Day celebrations

Saturday was Valentine's Day, as you all know, and the weather here was astounding! Sunny, warm, and just beautiful. We went to one of the roller parks out in town with some friends. As we were walking into the park we passed this truck that was all blinged out...japanese style, it was hilarious...here's a picture...or two!

Yep! those are chandeliers you see. There was also a mini bar it looked like and beaded curtains behind the driver seat.

There aren't enough words!

I would add a video of all the kids on the rollar slide...if I could figure out how to download it. I'll have to have Louis work on it for me.

Dining Out

Last thursday took us to Tokyo for the annual RLSO/NLSO Dining Out at the New Sanno hotel. An age old tradition dating all the way back to King Arthur and his court it is designed to keep moral high...and an excuse for everyone to get as drunk as they can, for once, in front of their command. Fortunately they now accomodate with a non alcoholic grog as well. It can be quite hilarious actually depending on who is involved. My obsticle for this year was finding a dress that would fit, since I don't own a maternity formal. Miraculously, with a little help on the zipper, I did manage to fit into one of my high school homecoming dresses. It was fun, but exhausting. Dar was with the Larsen kids and a babysitter. They went to dinner, swimming, and back to our room for Madagascar 2. They had fun as well.

Dayna Snow, in red. Celeste Larsen, in all black. And me...I did actually slightly rip my dress with a semi-violent cough. Luckily it wasn't the zipper! By the end of the night it was rather hard to breath I am afraid, I was glad to get back into jammies.

Louis wearing Dar's pirate hat as part of a scit, he wore it the rest of the night.

The RLSO. Were supposed to be doing their scit and the CO said they were taking to long so he sent them to the grog bowl as punishment, find the pirate hat...that's Lou.

Dar playing

Dar is so funny, he is constantly wanting me to take his picture while he is playing. He has gotten very good recently about playing on his own (FINALLY) in his bedroom, or out here in the family room. So here are some pictures of him playing.

Mike, Louis and Dar were playing football in our family room and Dar was using the advantage (or so he thought) of turning into a Ben 10 alien to help his situation.

Dar is huge into transformers right now. Since we didn't actually have any until this weekend, he has designated various cars of his as transformers and calls them by name, pretends to transform them, and plays out little scenes both imaginary and from the movies. This is his line up. They all have a permenant dwelling in "the transformers ship" which is actually a car carrier that looks a lot like optimus prime. Anyway, he races that ship with the Transformers in it around the house a lot. Miraculously this game will keep him entertained for hours. Some times most of the day finds him running back and forth between his room, family room, and the kitchen with these guys in tow, talking with them and them talking to each other. While I'm making dinner he is always taking up most of the floor playing with autobots. It is very cute.

Although the shirt is coincidental, he was playing with his tool set and got all dressed up, carrying a load of tools out to the couch. He was pretending to fix EVERYTHING before he insisted on a picture. My big helper!

Mysteries revealed!

Today was my 20 week mark in my pregnancy. As such our ultrasound took place this morning. The baby gave us a thumbs up, and a peace sign before allowing us to see that he is in fact a boy. Dar was much more obliging than this one, but he couldn't hide the fact for long. Dar is very excited and wants the baby out now, as he has said several times since finding out it was a boy. Louis and I are excited as well. Knowing the gender means I can put into action all the tentative plans I've had battering away inside my head for the last month or so. Yeah!! It will be a wonderful adventure for all of us...can't wait!
